Des Muller, Director

  • Head of Power Group Five Infrastructure Development Services
  • He has over 20 years experience in power plant construction and startup commissioning across many engineering disciplines.
  • Since 2004 he has been active as a Power Industry Analyst and IPP Developer in the Southern and East African regions.
  • Des heads up the Power side of Group Five’s Investments & Concessions business which has a focus on developing large scale independent power projects from conceptualization to commercial and financial closure. These projects are mobilised into construction projects within the Group’s Engineering and multi-disciplinary Construction divisions on a turn-key EPC basis.
  • At the start of 2008, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency became his key focus and part of the Group’s overall environmental strategy.
  • In this period, resources have been dedicated to the development and implementation of large scale, utility grade solar power projects in Southern Africa. The Group is also positioned to offer design and construction services to other renewable energy technologies like Wind and sustainable Hydro energy.
  • Des Muller holds a Diploma in Electrical Engineering specialising fossil fuel power plant technologies.
